Regulating chemicals after the UK Transition period
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) hosted two virtual one-day stakeholder events covering actions businesses need to take when the UK Transition ends and how the new GB regulatory regime for chemicals may impact their work.
The first event took place on Wednesday 16 December 2020 and the second on Wednesday 20 January 2021. Video on demand recordings and downloadable PowerPoint presentations can be accessed from the Delegate Area.
The virtual events included:
- sessions led by HSE on the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) and Prior Informed Consent (PIC) regimes
- sessions led by HSE and Defra on Plant Protection Products (PPP) and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH)
The events centred around business readiness, ensuring attendees are well informed of the duties and obligations they need to comply with to access the GB market after the transition period ends. The sessions included a live Q and A
